Stobrec

Stobrec is a little historic place at the spot of an ancient village Epetion. Not far away is the mouth of the river Zrnovnica.

Apparently, in the third century BC Epetion was a Greek colony. Residents were from the island of Issa (Vis).
The remains of the Greek buildings are still there. Thus, on the north side of the Stobrec peninsula one can see the remains of the ancient fortification wall.

At the time, Roman Epetium was a very good harbor for traffic connections and had very good agricultural hinterland. Consequently, in ancient terms, this colony was considered to be rich.
Today it is an excellent place for Dalmatia vacation and camping vacation with beautiful history. Moreover, Stobrec is famous for many beaches.

To the west, there is only 5 km distance from Split centre. Accordingly, Stobrec is a part of the Split metropolitan area. Beaches of Stobrec are by far the most famous. There are sandy ones in the centre and stone beaches a bit outside in the southwest of the town. Also, apart from beaches, for the sea lovers there are many possibilities for sailing, rowing, windsurfing or fishing.

Stobrec is very lively little place. As a result, during these summer days, the whole place is crowded with many people and many events.
There are many events such as traditional folk festivities and the feast of St Lawrence.
However, guests can enjoy also various sport and recreation activities. Right across the town there is a golf course.

Opposite, closer the town, there is a Sport camp. One can reach it all by foot.
Gastronomy in this little town deserves 10 stars. In particular, we recommend excellent fish restaurants.
Apart from his historical virtues, this little place is also rich in various apartments.

Stobrec apartments are numerous and various. Since town is small, most apartments in Stobrec have sea views.
Consequently, they are all walking distance to the nearest beaches, market, all grocery shops and many local coffee shops.
