Stobrec is a little historic place located at the spot of an ancient village Epetion, not far from the mouth of the river Zrnovnica.
In the third century BC Epetion was actually a place found by Greek colonists from the island Issa (Vis).

The remains of the ancient fortification wall are preserved and visible on the north side of the Stobrec peninsula.

At the time, Roman Epetium was a very good harbor for traffic connections and had very good agricultural hinterland.

Today it is an excellent place for Dalmatia vacation and camping vacation with beautiful history and many beaches. With only 5 km distance from Split centre, Stobrec is a part of the Split metropolitan area.

Beaches of Stobrec are by far the most famous. There are sandy ones in the centre and stone beaches a bit outside in the southwest of the town. For the sea lovers there are many possibilities for sailing, rowing, windsurfing or fishing.

Stobrec is very lively little place, so, during the Summer the whole place is crowded with many people and many events like traditional folk festivities and the feast of St Lawrence.
Sport and recreation lovers can visit Sport camp in Stobrec or a big golf course right across the town by the river mouth. All spots are reachable by foot.

Stobrec apartments are numerous and various. Since town is small, most apartments in Stobrec have sea views.
